The Earth Champions® Foundation is working with SWaCH a cooperative of over 11,000 waste pickers based in Pune, India. These pickers, mainly women work long tiring days collecting waste from over 200 households each per day. They currently have no access to toilets drinking water or a sheltered place to sort their collections.
The Pickers of Pune Programme is raising funds to build toilets, drinking water, waste sorting and training hubs in 5 locations in Pune. It will also work to raise awareness of plastic waste and recycling and stop plastics reaching our oceans and waterways.
