During the past three years, we had more than10,000 cloth bags created with specially designed pattern in order to attract young people to reduce plastic bag usage. This project was financed by social, industrial and educational institutions and it was initiated and executed by PAO Foundation. As a three year consecutive project, various activities have been carried out to promote the idea of Green Lifestyle, such as Blog, radio talk program, school and community group discussion and questionnaires. Currently a call-for-design activity is being planned for this year’s cloth bag project. Vision :
Each and everyone have his or her part in the campaign to make it a greener world, and we can achieve this by changing our daily life style just from now on. By reducing the use of plastic bags as less as possible, we will better ourselves beside me.
Motivation :
As plastic bag is harmful in many ways to both human and animals especial those live in the ocean, to cut the source is one of the major solutions to this issue. By raising social awareness of the long term negative impact of using plastic bags, consumers could slow down the growth of plastic bag usage and together with the society they will impose more restrictions on the producers to find economic replacements. Youth is our future and tends to be more willing to accept and stick to good ideals than adults. To promote this ideal among young people will have more impact in the long run and be more effective. Progress :
This project is hosted by PAO Foundation and Shangde Educational Foundation, and supported by CMM Foundation, Sina Blog, and Beijing Radio Education Face to Face Program. It is at planning stage for this year’s bag design, including logo and whole bag design using environmental friendly materials. This call-for-design sub-project will have students’ involvement from 8 primary schools to colleges throughout China to let them pioneer the ideal of Green Lifestyle with their unique creativity.
