Glenis Paul, Sha Tin College Environment Action Group (STC EAG)
The Sha Tin College Environment Action Group (STC EAG) germinated in my first year of teaching at STC. We started with about 15 students and staff looking at ways we could reduce STC’s ecological footprint and positively alter the perceptions and attitude of the STC community towards sustainable development.
Two and half years later, we have an array of student led environmental projects that all have a focus on ‘RRRRR’ – Responsibility, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
The STC EAG are a group of young people who have become informed and empowered about issues effecting not only their local environment but also global issues that are impacting on all living species. This knowledge enables them to understand that their choices can make a difference locally and globally.
